At TVQ.Academy, we use English and Arabic as our medium of instruction.
At the moment, TVQ.Academy main focus on teaching open-ended Qur’an recitation and memorization. The learner will grasp the proper way of pronouncing the words (letters) of the Qur’an, and learn the rules of Tajwīd.
The difference between open-ended Qur’an recitation (OEQR) and open-ended Qur’an memorization (OEQM) is that, you will present your assigments in OEQR using your Qur’an. Meaning you will reading from your Qur’an. Whereby for OEQM, you will be presenting your assignment by heart. Which means you will have to memorize them by heart before presenting them. Either way, the quality of the Tajwid standard from TVQ.Academy for both OEQR and OEQM courses will be the same.
TVQ.Academy strives to provide a quality environment for Qur’an teaching and learning. To achieve that, we’ve set standards which an assignment has to reach before a student is allowed to proceed to a next assignment. In the process, your progress is monitored and recorded. And at the end of your course (OEQR or OEQM), you’ll be issued with a certificate for completion for the course you registered for. Students who demonstrate a good command in their pronunciation, recitation and performance (these are collectively called Adā’ in Tajwid science) will be awarded with an Ijāzah, from the sanad of the founder of TVQ.Academy, linking to our beloved Prophet, ṣallā Allāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam.
The duration a student will spend in a course, be it OEQR or OEQM depends on the choice of days he picked for his course. Additionally, the effort he puts in for his assigments to be approved will also help him to finish faster. This means, a student’s assignment must be approved before he proceeds to a new assignment.
Primarily, you need to have access to the Internet, mainly on your phone.
You’ll need to have access to WhatsApp (or its alternative). With WhatsApp, you can record your recitations and send them to the instructor with ease.
You’ll also need to have access to FaceTime, Skype or Google Hangout. This will enable you to do video telephony after every 5 pages of progress or when you are going to be tested after completing a new Juz’.
A student will record his recitation (using his mobile phone) and send it to the instructor. The instructor on his side will listen to it, evaluate, give a feedback and tell the student what to do next. The exercise/practice will continue until the student masters 5 pages. The both instructor and student go live, for the student to recite those 5 pages. The same thing will be repeated for the next 5 pages, until one Juz’ is completed. The student will be test (live) after the completion of every Juz’. This test is not only for new Juz’, but for all his old recitations or memorizations with the instructor.
At the moment, we are only able to receive payment through PayPal. The good news is that creating a PayPal account is a click away, which won’t take you more than a few minutes.
