The Talaqqi category aims to guide the learner of the Qur’an towards mastery of reading the Qur’an.
A student will first be assessed and assigned to a suitable level for his performance. He will then progress depending on his commitment and progress.
There are six levels under the Talaqqi category:
- Super Beginners
- Beginners
- Lower-Intermediates
- Intermediates
- Upper-Intermediates
- Advanced
Level I: Super Beginners
This level will take you from scratch if you don’t have the basics in reading the Arabic alphabet.
It’s also designed to help you if you have the basics but require refresher lessons to boost your confidence, insha Allah.
With commitment, correct practice and du’a, you’ll progress from this level in no time.
You can do it!
Level II: Beginners
You are assigned to the Beginner’s level if you outsmart the Super Beginners’ level, or after you have progressed from it.
This level will take you through Juz’ ‘Amma in its entirety. Don’t worry, you have JAPTS to guide you at your time of convenience and in the comfort of your home.
Level III: Lower-Intermediate
This level will take you through Juz #29 and 28. It is Juz’ #29 and 28 because you’re progressing from Juz’ #30 up.
You progress to this level after you have mastered the Beginners Level.
You are expected to accelerate faster at this level.
Level IV: Intermediate
At this level, you’ll undertake Juz’ #27 and 26.
At the end of this level, you’ll be mastering a quarter of the Qur’an. The good news is, you’ll be mastering, at the end of this level the most frequently recited Surahs in the Quran.

Level V: Upper-Intermediate
At this level, you’ll start reading the Qur’an in The Halaqah from Al-Fatihah down.
It covers from Surah Al-Fatihah till the end of Surah al-An’ām. That is the first quarter of the Qur’an.
At this level, you’ll be reading the Qur’an with more mastery, smoothness, and tranquility. By the will of Allah.
You can do this. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Level VI: Advanced
When you are here, it means you have overcome all the odds and obstacles. And you have proved yourself correct; that you can do it.
This level will take you through the end of the Qur’an, including the last quarter you covered in the first four levels.
